Recipe: Honey and Date Loaf (Gluten Free)

When I first started using my super blender, the first thing I made was a honey and date loaf.  I was looking for an alternative to cake and a substitute for fruit bread.

As per all things that I tend to do, I started with a basic recipe and tweaked it to suit my needs. The result is pretty good I think - and with how fast it disappears in my house, I don't think I am alone.

People are becoming more and more aware that cow's milk is not always the best option for their body. 

There are now many milk alternatives - some refer to these as Mylk.  I make an almond and coconut blend. Mainly because even though we don't drink cow's milk anymore, we do still consume our 'milk' as if we did - so I need volume:-)

Almond milk is super easy to make, it is a little time consuming, but well worth the effort.

Recipe: Almond, Cacao & Chia Cake

Almond, Cacao & Chia Cake is fast becoming my family's all time favourite cake. We have been on a journey over the past couple of years to remove sugar from our diet - but alas we still like our sweet things. So I had to come up with something that was delicious and nutritious (ok the icing not so much, but well.......)

This amazing recipe that I found and have subsequently tweaked to suit my personal tastes and needs ticks all the boxes. The thing I love is that you don't need the icing if you don't want. It gives you that sweet boost you are wanting, but as it is made with dates there is no carbohydrate slump after you have eaten it. Hope you like the recipe :-)
